Hungarian scientist rewrites the history of evolution

According to the most acceptable theory, every living creature on Earth can be divided into three categories: eukaryotes (creatures with cells like plants, animals), bacteria, and archaea.

Index reported that the place of archaea in the history of evolution is still a mystery for scientists. As time went on, the three categories slowly separated from each other as more and more developed creatures started to live on Earth. The theory that these three factors developed independently from each other is accepted by most experts.

Another theory invented by Gergely Szőlősi (Hungarian scientist from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences) and Tom Williams from the University of Bristol found a significant amount of genetic evidence that there were only two domains at the beginning of evolution, and the eukaryotes were born from the archaea.

Their research might rewrite the history of evolution and every study book at school.

What are archaea? The name defines their extremely ancient age, as for a long time, many thought that these creatures were even older then bacteria. Although they do not have a cell inside of their structure, it has been discovered that many of their features are similar to eukaryotes. Scientists started to analyse every single genetic data of these creatures.

They examined approximately 3,000 pieces of data, and the results supported their theory.
